....AND WHY THEY WORK SO WELL TOGETHER
Over the last year or so, I've been learning about the concept that movement creates creativity. Move + Make was built on this concept and I truly believe it's legitimacy because it's been part of my daily practice and the more I play with it, the more I learn.
It's definitely a sure fire way to get the mind clear and ready to create. I find these creative idea bombs usually arrive after my yoga practice or after sitting in meditation for as little as 5 minutes.
Let's face it, being a creative can be difficult, especially when you're in a funk and the inspiration has vanished. It's quite easy to fall into the feeling of deflation and it's really hard to get ourselves out of it.
When I feel this lull coming on, I feel it because I want to feel all my emotions, but then I shake it off with a house dance or yoga flow. Something as simple as raising your arms in the air and falling forward a few times is energising. I love this movement so much. I now do it with my mum whenever I see her - we laugh and giggle whilst moving up and down and I/we immediately feel better!
Movement supports creativity by clearing space in your body, therefore your mind. For me, my most creative ideas and inspiration bombs happen straight after I move. This is when I invent my yoga journey's for the kids, fun ideas to do with loved ones and how I connect with new people and myself. Being creative is not just art, painting or drawing, it's the way we think, move and show up in life.
Movement is a magical tool and we have it with us ALL THE TIME!
